If you are unfamiliar with The Reformation, on October 31, 1517, in Wittenberg, Germany, Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the Castle Church. This historical moment is considered the spark of The Protestant Reformation. This Reformation was very important in the preservation of the Gospel in the face of the Roman Catholic Church which at that time had replaced God’s truth with the traditions of men.
The Five Solas, are slogans that were popularized by the Reformers during the Protestant Reformation of the Church (1350-1648). These slogans are based on biblical truths and sound doctrine. Knowing and understanding the Five Solas is important for your children–it will help them to read and apply Scripture to their lives.
What can you expect?

Reformation Day Celebration
Do you celebrate Reformation Day as a Christian? If you don’t, you should! We began celebrating Reformation Day when our kids were little. It began as an alternative to celebrating Halloween but as I have learned more about the historical events that shaped the Protestant Church, I have come to treasure this month with my kids. It allows us to spend an entire month deeply entrenched in Church History and the Gospel.
If you utilize The Five Solas: Signs to Follow on the Narrow Path Family Bible Study leading up to Reformation Day the week or even month before you celebrate on October 31st, it is a great way to teach important doctrines that instill the Gospel with each lesson and activity you do as a family. My family uses this resource each year as we remind ourselves of what the Reformers did to protect the faith. I know you will enjoy it as much as we have to the glory of God!
