**This is a handcrafted product. It is important to us that we source high quality materials and describe each product transparently. However, in a world that is accustomed to factory-made, cookie-cutter productions, it is important to note that handcracted items are valuable for a reason. They take skill, precision, and time to create. Items may have variances due to natural materials utilized, such as leather, which are subject to shifts in texture and coloration. This should be expected and is part of the charm inherent to any piece of artistic work. Inquiries or feedback concerning our products are welcome, and may be sent to caleb@reformedfaithandfamily.com.

Description

As consumers living in a digital age, we think nothing of dropping a few hundred dollars on a new laptop or cell phone every couple of years. However, when it comes to our Bibles, we often don’t consider aesthetics as valuable a factor in our purchasing new or the need to preserve the heirloom passed down to us from a faithful man or woman of God. Good Dog Designs and Rebinds was founded by Caleb Stomberg who enjoys taking time and skill to rebind Bibles new and old in supple, authentic, quality leathers in order to elevate visually what is already priceless within – God’s Word.

The MacArthur Study Bible

This particular design is a MacArthur Study Bible rebound using a brown goatskin leather cover with an underlying reddish hue and a forest green sheepskin leather liner. This is a Legacy Standard Version of the Bible. It is a comfortable size to carry at 10 1/4 x 7 1/2 x 2 inches. The imprints on the spine are are outlined in subtle black foil, and the page edges have been guilded in green for an elegant copy of the Scriptures that you can treasure and pass down for generations to come. The cover has been handsewn using green stitchig, and three forest green ribbons have been installed for your convenience. There are certain headings within the text block that are a teal shade that blend with the green highlights of this particular design. We know you will love it!

Why is it called Good Dog Designs?

The designer here, Caleb Stomberg, felt Good Dog would be a clever spin on his own name. The name Caleb is most familiar to Christians in the Bible stories of Exodus where Caleb and Joshua were among the Israelites commissioned to spy out the Promised Land. These two alone remained faithful along with Moses from that generation and were allowed to see the Promised Land. However, most people do not realize that the Hebrew name Caleb means “dog.” What would seem to us a dishonorable name given at birth, graced a man that proved godly time and again. Caleb only prays he can live up to such a legacy. As a play on the name Caleb, Good Dog Designs: Bible Rebinding and Custom Wood Products was established. He enjoys crafting high quality wood designs and rebinding Bibles as a bivocational pastor and father to seven children living in Northwest Minnesota. You can learn more about Caleb and his wife here.
