As consumers living in a digital age, we think nothing of dropping a few hundred dollars on a new laptop or cell phone every couple of years, but for some reason when it comes to our Bibles, we often don’t consider aesthetics as valuable a factor in our purchasing new or the need to preserve the heirloom passed down to us from a faithful man or woman of God. Good Dog Designs and Rebinds was founded by Caleb Stomberg who enjoys taking time and skill to rebind Bibles new and old in supple, authentic leathers in order to elevate visually what is already priceless within – God’s Word.
As Christians we ought to be reading God’s Word every day. This means that over time our treasured Bibles will look used and ultimately break down. One might choose to just buy new, but some Bibles are priceless. Maybe it was one given to you marking a special occasion in your life, or possibly it was handed down from a beloved grandfather. Either way, Christians usually collect new Bibles or have old ones restored rather than throwing a worn out one away – it just feels wrong. If you are looking to have an old Bible restored or desire to purchase a custom designed, high-quality, leather-bound copy of God’s Word, Good Dog Designs and Rebinds has got you covered.
Welcome!
My name is Caleb Stomberg. The name Caleb is most familiar to us in the Bible stories of Exodus where Caleb and Joshua were among the Israelites commissioned to spy out the Promised Land. These two alone remained faithful along with Moses from that generation and were allowed to see the Promised Land. However, most people do not realize that the Hebrew name Caleb means “dog.” What would seem to us a dishonorable name given at birth, graced a man that proved godly time and again. I only pray I can live up to such a legacy. As a play on the name Caleb, I have established Good Dog Designs: Bible Rebinding and Custom Wood Products. I enjoy crafting high quality products between being a father of seven and serving as a biovocational pastor in Northwest Minnesota.

It is important to note that each Bible is a handcrafted product. It is important to us here at Good Dog, that we source high quality materials and describe each product transparently. However, in a world that is accustomed to factory-made, cookie-cutter productions, it is important to highlight the fact that handcracted items are valuable for a reason. They take skill, precision, and time to create. Items may have variances due to natural materials utilized, such as leather, which are subject to shifts in texture and coloration. This should be expected and is part of the charm inherent to any piece of artistic work. Inquiries or feedback concerning our products are welcome, and may be sent to caleb@reformedfaithandfamily.com or you may submit via the contact form included below.

Caleb is skilled in woodworking, crafting everything from custom gameboards, to practical bunk beds, and ergonomic chairs. In recent years, he has done less woodworking and more Bible rebinding, but we would love to reserve a spot here for those times he has items available. Stay tuned for updated products to be listed here for purchase.
